RallyCap Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 22-3681722) that believes people with special needs should be able to play sports, just like everyone else. They provide recreational sports specifically designed for children and young adults of all abilities.
The idea was born in 1990. While coaching a Little League team, Paul Hooker turned to a young girl in a wheelchair and asked how she was doing. Frustrated at watching from the sidelines while her brother played, she replied, "this stinks." That two-word answer sparked a mission to create a program where children and young adults of all abilities could enjoy and participate in sports.
RallyCap pairs athletes with volunteer buddies for recreational sports built around fun, friendship, and inclusion. Today their programs run in communities and on college campuses across the country, including Central New Jersey, Bowling Green State University, Hamilton, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio State.
As a volunteer-powered nonprofit, RallyCap relies on donations to run its leagues, equip its athletes, and expand to new communities. Together, we rally to create a world where people of all abilities have a chance to play.
